Sydney Pryor - Western Illinois University
Syd is one of those players that anchors a team. She is always the first to arrive and last one to leave. She is liked by all, both for her kindness and being an excellent teammate and the dedication she always displayed to the club and team. When watching Syd you admire many things, but the two biggest are the standard she always holds herself to and never being out-hustled on the field.
Executive Director John Koeune on Sydney:
“Syd has been with us for many years and while she is gracious in saying how positively the club has impacted her life, FCX is better for having her be a part of our family.”
Kacie Filian - St. Bonaventure University
Kacie is the youngest in a family with 6 kids, every one of which played soccer and played at a high level. From the time she was in diapers she has been around the field and she owes her incredible soccer IQ to the environment that her family surrounded with from early on. Beyond that, Kacie achieved extremely high standards due to her toughness and confidence. Kacie was the girl who slide tackled before it was socially acceptable to slide tackle. To paint the picture of what Kacie was like, she was a U12 girl slide tackling in practice and on turf, despite having slide tackled the day before and carrying the turf burns to prove it. Any discussion of Kacie would not be complete without discussing her exceptional ability in the air.
Executive Director John Koeune about Kacie:
“Kacie is the best player I’ve seen with her head in 20+ years of coaching. She scored a dozen goals from corner kicks and free kicks each of the past 2 years and I could not begin to count the number of booming punts she won with her head...All while being off the charts academically.”
